Flu at our house

So how lucky are we to get the flu. Addie started the night of my birthday. A couple of days later Owen, then me Don't know if it was H1N1. They aren't testing for it anymore. But the kids and I were sure sick. This is dad enjoying Owen sleeping on him and watching tv. That wouldn't have happened unless Owen was really sick!!

crazy hair day

Every October for 1 week at school they have red ribbon week. It is a fun week that encourages the kids and teaches them not to do drugs. They do something fun everyday out of the week. One this day it was crazy hair day. Addie was excited that was a morning that I was home from work and could do her hair. Dad did it last year and I guess it just wasn't crazy enough. We did lots of glitter and lots of poof. I told her the secret ingredient was White Rain hairspray!

Happy Birthday to me!!

So yesterday Oct. 11 was my birthday. I can't believe I'm 24 again! Haha. I had a great day. It started off with breakfast in bed from Mike and the kids. The kids had to sing in the Primary program at church. It always makes me emotional when they kids sing every year. Thinking about how old they have gotten. Wondering where the time has gone. Also, I can't help but think of Sidnee and how she would have looked with her age group singing. Addie and Owen did great! It was so funny watching the 2 of them and their personalities. Addie knowing every song and her part and taking it all very seriously. Owen waving at us, not paying any attention to the person leading the songs, and hitting the kid next to him in the head. They both did look adorable!

Then we had dinner at mom's. They fixed prime rib. Yum!! Then we opened gifts. Mike had given me a CD. Addie made me a super cute bracelet. Mike and the kids gave me a pair of Opal earrings (my birthstone). And Mom and Dave got me some clothes. Then for the big surprise... they got me a bike!! I love it!! I have been looking at these throw back 50's style bikes. But thought I would wait until the kids were riding their bikes. I love this style! (Addie thinks it looks like Pee Wee Herman's bike) And to everyones's amazement I could ride it! Mike and both rode it. Then when I got home I had sugar cookies from Tara and a gift. Along with many other well wishes. So as you can see everyone spoiled me and I had a great day!! Thanks everybody!

My Uncle Delray

My Mom's brother Delray came to visit a few weeks ago. My mom was having a cousin's party at her house and thought it would be fun to have Delray come. He lives in Kentucky. She asked him if she flew him out would he come. To her surprise he said yes!! So he was here for a few days. She also hadn't told her other sister LuAnn. And from what I hear, LuAnn was shocked.

The reason why this is such a big deal is that none of us have seen Delray since 1983. That was the year my grandpa died. And he has not been back since. My mom and him did not have a real good relationship with him. They did not talk or communicate at all! Then, in 2004 when mom was diagnosed with cancer they began talking again. From what I hear they talk on the phone quite a bit now. One blessing being sick has brought her. None of us ever thought we would see him out here again! Here are a few pictures from that weekend.

Peach Days

This last weekend (Sept. 12) was peach days in Brigham City. I have never been to peach days. It is quite the event. Mike had gone back packing with Ryan to Union Falls (yellowstone). Shelly, Courtney, and Jen suggested I bring the kids and go to the parade and festivities with them. I work with them and always have such a blast. I guess I have never really been to a big parade. Does Health Days with Smithfield count? Anyway, it was quite the hoopla. It was like 2 hours long! We had a lot of fun. Owen was so excited to see the fire trucks. So after the parade Brock ( courtney's husband is a fireman) said we could come to the station so the kids could sit in the firetrucks. I thought Owen was going to blow a gaskit!!!! They even got to try on Brock's clothes. Which made Owen fall over. It was really fun. Although, I kept wishing they could have gotten to do that when Claude (my father-in-law) was still captain of his fire station. This is a few pictures of the parade and fire station fun. Boy, those horns are loud!!!!!

Owen's first day of preschool

Owen had his first day of preschool on Sept. 8, 2009. He, like the girls did, is going to Ms. Tana's. We love her!! Anyway, I was really worried about sending him off. I wasn't sure he would go in without a fit. He did. He was soooo excited. I think it helped that I had bought him a back pack he didn't know about. He thought he was pretty cool. I also think it helped that Addie had started school a few weeks before. I took some pictures beforehand. The one with the balloon is at school. He told me he was "lookin' good". I suppose it isn't good that he knows he is cute. Anyway, he went in and didn't even care that he was leaving mom. 3 for 3. I didn't go into work that morning. I was amazed at all I could accomplish by the time he was to be picked up. But honestly, I really did miss him. Also, he is my baby, and I know I'll never get to experience this part of life again. He seems to be doing pretty well in school. Although, the kids would come home and tell their parents they played with no one. Come to find out, they were saying Owen.
