Addie learns to ride her bike

On March 20, 2010 Addie rode her bike for the first time without training wheels. I had bugged her all last year to learn. She wasn't about to do it. Which really irritated me cause she rides her scooter like no ones business. I tried and tried to explain to her she would do just fine on the bike. She already had the balance thing down. Nope. Wouldn't even try. So we finally had a nice day. I pumped up her tires. Made some adjustments to her bike. My uncle Dallas and my cousins husband Jeremy had made this really cool thing that you hook onto their bike that helps you keep them up. We tried to get it to work. But don't you know it didn't fit Addie's bike. So Mike rigged it on there. He followed behind her. Within minutes she was riding with no help. So we took the thing off, and she was riding like a pro. I couldn't have been more proud. I find it funny it was bugging me she didn't know how to ride a bike, but Mike didn't really seem to care. It seems as if I do more and more things like my dad. He drove me nuts that I didn't know how to ride my bike. So, one day I had enough of listening to him and just took off. Sounds a little familar of this day with Addie.
Now she is bugging me everyday to go over to the church and ride. This is Owen and I getting in on the action with her. Now, he on the other hand rides like a bat out of heck. That kid has no fear. Wonder when I can start bugging him to ride without training wheels???!!!

Disney on Ice

The beginning of March my Mom got us tickets to Disney on Ice. It was only Mom, Addie, Owen, and I that went. Dave was in a nursing/rehab place because he had his knee replaced. I was actually kind of excited for just my Mom and I and the kids to go. Although, I know she worried about leaving Dave.
Disney was at the Energy Solutions Areana in Salt Lake. This is Mom and the kids outside. Don't quite know what Owen is doing. The kids were so excited to wear their Disney stuff. Owen of course in Cars, Addie in tinkerbell.
You can see the incredible seats Mom got us!! 2nd row baby!! I am sure she paid an arm and leg for these seats, but we had such a good time, I tried not to worry about it!! The characters were so close to us. Addie and Owen were so excited when they would wave to the characters and they would see them and wave back. I, myself , have never really been a fan of Disney. But when you see it through a childs eyes, you become a fan quickly.
This year for Disney on Ice was really cool. They had "Cars" there. The kids and I had so much fun this day. I wish my cameras battery hadn't died so soon. I wanted to take a lot more pix. And of course, Nanny bought the kids toys and treats and drinks and popcorn.
Thanks so much for a good time Nanny!! We had a blast!!

Addie's school adventures

Donuts with Dad. I love this day at school. They celebrate it once a year. The Dads (or someone special) go to school with their kids in the morning. They pick a place in the school they want to sit down and read some books together. Then, they have donuts with their Dad. Mike really does love this day.

Later, on this day, Addie had lunch with Carol and Claude. They happened to be in town.
A few days later it was Cat in the Hat day. I thought it was funny that Owen and Addie came home from school with almost the same hat on!!
