Owen's in the big preschool class

September 7, 2010. Owen started the big kid class in preschool. He is the youngest in his class. With an August birthday he will be either the oldest in school, or the youngest. Don't know if we want to send him to Kindergarten next year as a barely a 5 year old or not.
He was so excited to get started this year in preschool. Of course Tana is his teacher. This is the 6th year she has had one of our kids. We have a special place in our hearts for her! He carried his backpack around all morning and couldn't wait to get there. I love you little man!

Labor Day campout

Labor Day 2010. I love the campout of Labor Day. It has become tradition that we go up and camp at Beaver mountain. Mom, Dave, my aunt Julie and uncle Dallas, and my cousin Kim and fiance Brandt came. We had such a good time. We went on rides and played games. The last night we were there it snowed. Didn't stick, but it snowed! We about froze that day. Other than that the weather was pleasant with the hint of fall in the air.
This is my Aunt Julie and Uncle Dallas with their dog Bug. He is a Pug and is so funny. He is a little hot in this picture, but his tongue is always out about an inch. It cracks me up!! It's not gross cause he doesn't slobber.
This is Mike and My Mom!! Don't be alarmed they are not terrorists, just don't want the dust on them during our 4 wheeler ride. They did get some looks though.
Thanks for another great year. 7 campouts from July 4th. Not bad! What a way to end it. I am so thankful for family and this beautiful country we live in.

camping with reed and caitlyn

The weekend of August 27th we went camping up Smithfield canyon with my coworker and friend Caitlyn and her ..... boyfriend Reed. We had a great time. Even though the weather was crappy. We made it fun. We got our Rook on. Too bad Reed and I beat Caitlyn and Mike so bad!! Tara came up for a minute. She showed us Ryan's latest invention. And I love it!! I had to take a picture. Too bad he didn't have that before we had trailers!

Addie's first day of second grade

Addie's first day of 2nd grade was August 26, 2010. She was so funny this day. I think she was pretty excited to get back to school. I went to wake her up that morning I was singing a song to her at the top of my lungs about 2nd grade as I tried to cuddle with her. She kept reaching her hand up almost hitting me in the face. I asked her what she was doing. She said she was trying to hit the snooze alarm. Funny. I fixed her breakfast of her choice. Waffles. Then I got her ready and took some pictures. I did the one of her holding up 2 fingers. I asked her why she thought she needed to give the peace sign. She informed me that it wasn't for peace, it was for 2nd grade. oooohhhh. Mike, Owen, and I all walked her to school and into class. I asked her teacher Mrs. Ashcroft if I could take a picture. She was very gracious. At the end of the day, Addie was thrilled to come home and tell me her best friend from last year was in her class!!!! It was a good day.

Lava Hot Springs Idaho

On the weekend of August 20th went with Mom and Dave to Lava Hot Springs Idaho to camp. There is a beautiful campground right on the river across from the water park. We had an eventful time for sure. This is a view from across the river by the waterpark looking back at our trailers. The kids were having fun the first night just rolling down the hill. Owen got stung again by another wasp. The next day we went to the pool. They have a few slides. Addie found one she really liked that went pretty fast. This is one that they had for little kids that Owen enjoyed. They also have diving platforms like the Olympic really high ones. (33 1/2 feet up) And of course Mike had to do all those including the top one. Sometimes I can't believe some of the dumb stuff he does. But I love him anyway!!
Then we floated the river that was behind our trailers. It was super fun the first couple of times. The 3rd, not so much. Mike fell off. And at the end I got carried away. The problem with that is isn't too deep in a lot of places so you can get pretty banged up. Owen HATED it!! I really thought he would like it. He is such an adventure boy. And my kids love anything water. But this he did not enjoy. So we let Addie and Mike go on a few rides by themselves. May I also add that Addie loved it!
Then at the end of the evening I was in the trailer getting the kids cleaned up while Mom and Dave were fixing dinner. I heard some guy talking to Mike. I went outside to see what was up. There I found Cowboy Steve. He had his horses, his Bud Light, his 3 teeth, and plopped himself up on our tailgate. He was bragging about his horses. And insisted the kids take a little ride on them. Other people came around and let their kids ride too. One Mom asked me how I knew him. I told her I didn't. She then looked a little scared. As I felt. He was a really nice guy. Just a weird situation. One of those things where you wonder if you are dreaming. Mike told him it was nice to meet him and that we didn't have any beer all we had was Diet Coke. He said, "Well, I'd take some chow." So Mike made him a couple of quesadillas and leftover macaroni salad. And gave him a water. After he got done eating and visiting with the other trailer people, he left. I felt kinda bad to go over to Mom and Dave's trailer and eat steak.
All in all, we had a great time. Addie also slammed her thumb in the door. I thought it was broken. But after awhile she could bend it. My favorite part of the weekend was just sitting by our trailer watching the river and floaters. Thanks for making all the arrangements Mom and Dave!!

Owen's sting

Owen was playing outside and I heard him screaming in pain. When Owen screams in pain, it usually involves a trip to the ER. He can be a stinker, but he is probably the toughest kid I know. I quickly discovered he was probably stung by a wasp. I could see them flying around. His ear started swelling right away. This was the end result. Poor little dude!

Camping with Smocks

Camping with the Smocks. The weekend of August 6 we went camping with Ken, Kristi, and Morgan. We went up Smithfield canyon. Where we do most of our camping. Kristi and I have been friends since I moved to Smithfield in 1989. My first day of school (Cedar Ridge Middle School), my first class (Mr. Griffin-Art), we met. We were best friends from the start. And got in a whole lot of trouble together in High School. We were usually not seperated. I still concider her one of my closest friends. It's been a lot of years. We have been through a lot. But I'm glad she's still there for me!
